Just did a color card:

Foundry 35 is a neutral color vs
Reaper 124, 52/53/54 is blue (especially under flourescent light)
VMX 179/178/177/171 is grey

Brushing the VMC was the smoothest, Foundry the least smooth.

The VMC seems to have a "right sized" grain structure that catches the light nicely.

Still can't figure out how to use VMC 180 Gunmetal Blue. Maybe mixed with medium as a glaze for blued steel, but it seems tricky to get right because you have to knock the blue down quite a bit without making it too thin.
