Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have a proposition for you. I would hate the idea of a forum badge to disappear so how about this for an idea? I will pay to have 100 enamel badges made up for forum members and will send them for free to anyone from the forum who sends me a stamped addressed envelope. Thats right, it will just cost you the postage. Since Alice died I have had a lot of support from you lot and want to say thanks. Alice always thought a badge was a good idea and used to smile at the fact that 300+ grown adults couldn't sort it. She seemed to think it was because we are nearly all male....
I'm still thinking about the organisation of this, e,g, do we need to limit how many each person can have, is it possible to ensure that those who post most regularly get one etc. My gut feeling is not to worry too much, just post them out until they are gone, nice and simple, see? The KISS principle I suppose.
One big point, though, is the design. I have floated this idea past Steve and he pointed out, as have others, that the design that Paul Baker put forward that we all liked is a straight copy of the 2000AD Strontium Dog symbol. This will be copyrighted and I do not fancy Judge Dredd dragging me away in the middle of the night. It either needs to be altered enough to ensure I don't get my pants sued off or we need a different design.

Any thoughts on any of the above?

Thanks
Simon

That's very generous

As to design, my thoughts are If you're paying it's your choice.

I agree with what bugsda said .
Nice one simon, I'd send for one.
I know a few of you on here now but it would be good to bump into
others wearing the badge.
It would also give others warning of our presence and give them
ample time to get away.

I'm with ya Simon If thats what you want to do, !

Still be happy to pay for 'em though !

And can see the point of the design change..SD symbol could be mistaken
for the Cult of SeansDaddy !! A strange bunch indeed !

Kroms idea about the face is good , Ganster, Mexican or maybe steve has
some ideas about other pics he has that you could choose from. !

What ever you choose will be OK !
Every time I pin it on, I'll tip me hat to Alice and wear it at the shows with pride !

That’s hugely generous of you HCB! I’ll certainly be sending for one, and I don’t mind paying for it either – perhaps setting up a paypal address – so that we could donate.

As for the design – how about a little badge compo?

Hi after a bit of thinking I have edited my post as I have to agree with Steve.

Most kind of you I would like one! please.

If you let me know when you would like payment.

As for the design make it a tribute to Alice because as she is the reason your doing this, a lovely thought.

Kind regards
Brian

Great idea Simon and a very generous offer. I dont have an artistic bone in my body so I'll go with the flow. How about everyone buys you a pint at Salute in payment
